How To Help

Sponsor. Foster. Donate

There are several ways you may contribute in addition to adopting one of our wonderful horses.

Sponsor A Horse

The basic expenses associated with the care of a healthy horse can be quite substantial, and injured horses often require additional funds for medical supplies and veterinary care. Within Second Call, we have several horses who have become permanent pensioners, and we greatly depend on the generosity of individuals who share our passion for these equine companions.

We continuously face the need to fulfill our monthly obligations in caring for these retired horses. By contributing just $150 per month, you can provide a significant portion of the care required for one of these horses. Of course, we wholeheartedly welcome donations of any amount, as every contribution plays a crucial role in supporting our equine friends. It’s important to note that all monetary donations are eligible for tax deductions.

Become a Foster Care Provider

Like many equine retirement and adoption organizations, Second Call faces a significant demand that exceeds our available space. Our capacity to accept horses is constrained by both spatial limitations and funding considerations. However, there is a continuous demand for secure temporary housing for horses that are in the process of finding their forever homes. Perhaps you could be a foster home for one of these deserving equine companions!

As a foster care provider, you would be responsible for providing shelter, grain, and hay to the horse in your care. Meanwhile, we will take care of essential services such as trimming, vaccines, and worming. If you are interested in offering foster care and making a positive impact on these horses’ lives, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Your support can make a significant difference in their journey to permanent homes.

Support Us with a Safe Donation!

Second Call is entirely managed by dedicated volunteers and relies solely on the generosity of donations. As we diligently assess, rehabilitate, and retrain our horses, their ongoing needs extend beyond the essentials of hay, oats, and water. We consistently require items such as halters, wormers, blankets, lead ropes, wound salves, and much more to ensure the well-being of our equine companions.

We kindly invite you to contemplate making a tax-deductible donation today.  Your support is instrumental in our mission, and we are sincerely grateful for your generosity!
